The Wentworth Learning Centre provides inter-generational educational opportunities and houses a provincially licensed daycare, a library and community access program site. The centre is governed by an incorporated, not-for-profit co-operative founded by members of the Wentworth community.

Wentworth Learning Centre Childcare is expanding!
We’re building a long awaited and much anticipated infant centre – projected to open by the end of 2025.
We’d like to thank Nova Scotia’s Department of Education and Early Childhood Development for making this project possible! Last year, as part of their initiative to increase access to affordable childcare across the province, the Department announced their Major Infrastructure Program – a funding stream that allows for the creation of new childcare spaces in provincially licensed, not-for-profit childcare centres.
Through this program, we have been granted the opportunity to expand our current operations to include two infant classrooms, each with ten spaces, and a junior-preschool classroom with 21 spaces – all in an entirely new building located behind the current centre. This will bring Wentworth Learning Centre Childcare’s total number of spaces to 111 from its current 70.
This 2.7-million-dollar project would not be possible without the province’s funding and our community’s support!
The current centre will continue to be used for the existing toddler, preschool and school-age programs.
